About This Role

The Support Worker provides supportive services to residents in a residential setting, enabling them to live independently and work towards their full potential within a mental health nonprofit agency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive services to residents to enable independent living
  • Assist clients in a residential setting
  • Complete progress notes conjointly at the time of service, complying with regulatory standards
  • Maintain necessary casework records for Medicaid reimbursement
  • Spend at least 55% of each day in direct face-to-face contact with persons served
  • Support residents with the 8 dimensions of wellness (housing, emotional health, physical health, social, employment, and educational goals)
  • Participate in rotating weekends on call by phone

Requirements

  • Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate billable progress notes
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and people skills
  • Prominent level of patience and emotional resilience
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Empathetic with good listening skills
  • Great critical thinking skills
  • Ability to carry out domestic duties
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Office products, and general computer literacy
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/human service discipline OR High School Diploma/ GED plus 3 years of related work/life experience. OR Certified Peer Specialist (CRSP) plus 2 years of related work/life experience.
