About This Role

The Regional Outreach Coordinator will plan and implement programs and initiatives to address homelessness in designated rural and suburban areas of Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem counties. This role involves overseeing grant activities and supervising regional staff.

Responsibilities

  • Manage region by overseeing grant activities, monitoring performance, and recommending program modifications based on outcome data.
  • Supervise regional staff by providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Lead outreach teams to locate unsheltered individuals and assess their needs for housing, healthcare, and mental health services.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations and government agencies, and advocate for addressing homelessness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of service provisions for the homeless
  • Working knowledge of social and economic issues relevant to low-income communities
  • Strong understanding of housing first principles and harm reduction
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage crises
  • Ability to effectively communicate and relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment
  • Proven ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses using empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a supervisory role.
