Supervisor Sample Management

About This Role

Supervise a team of 15-20 Sample Coordinators, managing daily work, providing training on sample and standard handling while ensuring compliance with SOPs and laboratory procedures. This role supports the Sample Management Leadership team and performs administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee inventory tracking procedures (receipt, check-in, login, labeling, inventory, transport, check-out) and administrative tasks for laboratory operations
• Communicate status of tasks to supervisor and appropriate laboratory staff
• Train staff on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements
• Support response to environmental unit alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities
• Perform daily work assignments accurately, timely, and safely
• Focus on completing receipt of shipments and beginning storage processes with samples on dry ice and in -70-degree Centigrade freezer units

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• 1+ year of leadership responsibility
• Good organizational skills able to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Competent with computers and enterprise applications
• Critical thinking skills for quality decision making
• Proven compliance with procedures and policies
• Proven leadership abilities
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a drug screening

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• 0 to 5 years of experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
