About This Role

Supervise Public Health Advisors, conducting case management and field investigations for tuberculosis control in NYC. Ensure data accuracy, provide guidance on protocols, and support staff development to prevent and eliminate TB.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff within various titles and levels, assigning tasks for complete case management coverage.
  • Monitor all aspects of case management, including video observations, to ensure successful treatment for patients and contacts.
  • Conduct routine quality assurance monitoring of the TB registry for documentation compliance, timeliness, and thoroughness.
  • Provide guidance to staff on conducting case management activities according to BTBC protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Cultivate relations with community partners and collaborate to support the Bureau's mission.
  • Ensure weekly case management meetings, pouch reviews, cohort reviews, and observation audits are performed.
  • Review and evaluate staff work performance, taking corrective actions as needed to achieve proficiency in TB case management.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree AND two years of full-time satisfactory experience in a public health program with one year supervisory experience; OR
  • Associate degree (with specific credits) AND four years of experience in a public health program with one year supervisory experience; OR
  • Four-year high school diploma AND six years of experience in a public health program with one year supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (MS Word, Excel)

Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university OR an associate degree OR a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in a public health program performing duties involving case finding, case management, interviewing, and investigating. Total experience required depends on education level.

Nice to Have

  • Extensive supervisory experience in disease surveillance activities
  • Experience with hospitals and other health care professionals
