About This Role

Manage the overall operation of a Walgreens store to improve sales, profitability, and customer experience. This role involves merchandising, asset protection, team development, and operational oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze customer service provided by team members, offering training and encouragement for improvement in retail and pharmacy
  • Greet customers and clinic patients, offering assistance with products and services
  • Supervise store and pharmacy operations, including opening/closing/changing shifts, task delegation, and team scheduling
  • Supervise control of store money, including register counts, bank transactions, and all aspects of bookkeeping
  • Supervise merchandising by planning and implementing sets, resets, and revisions of department and promotional displays
  • Analyze inventory trends and supervise inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and liquidating items
  • Manage operations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including sales of restricted products
  • Ensure staff competency with all computer and technology systems and software, and respond to systems problems
  • Manage team member performance by assigning responsibilities, setting goals, providing feedback, and managing career progression
  • Make hiring, promotion, and termination decisions, addressing issues with Employee Relations and Human Resources
  • Participate in company and on-the-job training to improve skills, productivity, and attend required courses
  • Serve as a liaison between district, corporate, and the store to facilitate communication and implement initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years retail management experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of retail management experience
  • Licensed pharmacy technician as required by state OR pharmacy assistant in WA state OR licensed Rph as soon as possible given state law requirements, no later than 12 months from Store Manager position start date
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years retail management experience or High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of retail management experience
  • 3 years retail management experience with a Bachelor's degree or 5 years with a High School Diploma/GED

Nice to Have

  • PTCB or ExCPT Certification
  • Three years retail management experience, including supervising others, managing, and assigning work
