Store Manager Trainee

About This Role

Manage total store operations for Food Lion, meeting financial and sales goals while fostering strong associate and customer relations. Lead initiatives, ensure compliance, and promote a positive store culture.

Responsibilities

• Maximize all resources (physical, human, and financial) to achieve financial objectives and grow customer base
• Lead the implementation of store specific and corporate initiatives
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, company policies, and standard practices
• Apply and expand industry and market knowledge to improve competitive position
• Provide leadership and motivation to promote a culture reflective of Guiding Principles
• Provide a safe, secure, and pleasant environment for customers and associates
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and company assets
• Foster a positive environment that anticipates and satisfies needs of associates and customers
• Assure the recruiting and selection of best qualified candidates for store talent needs
• Recognize, evaluate, and develop associates to balance business objectives and individual needs

Requirements

• Solid understanding of store operations
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems
• Ability to lead and direct others
• Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar as a Certified Food Safety Manager, or ability to achieve within 90 days

Qualifications

• College graduate or equivalent preferred
