Steward Supervisor

About This Role

The Steward Supervisor will oversee steward, utility, and contract service workers, ensuring proper cleaning and sanitation in kitchens, managing inventory of china, glass, and silver, and contributing to food and beverage display enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the workload and efficiency of the steward team
• Monitor staff hours to prevent unapproved overtime
• Coordinate non-cooking kitchen and storeroom tasks like dishwashing and silver cleaning
• Manage inventory control of all food and beverage china, glass, silver, and equipment
• Inspect kitchens and storerooms for cleanliness and good working order
• Assist in preventing theft, breakage, and wastage
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
• Wash dishes and pots
• Set up buffets
• Ensure work areas are safe and secure, reporting unsafe conditions
• Maintain the highest sanitary conditions
• Store dishes and pots in appropriate areas
• Report dishwasher problems to the manager on duty
• Be aware of proper dishwashing temperatures
• Understand and follow all department and Club policies and procedures

Requirements

• Experience working within a high-volume kitchen
• Ability to maintain product inventory
• Ability to uphold quality standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility to work overnight, weekends, and holidays
