Sterile Processing Technician I

About This Role

This role involves preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and patient care equipment to ensure the highest standards of infection control. The technician will also manage inventory of supplies and support surgical operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform services related to the setup, reprocessing and care of patient use equipment & surgical instruments
• Perform inventory control functions related to supply areas

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer competency
• Ability to push, pull, roll, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk frequently
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently

Qualifications

• An accredited High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in Sterile Processing, Nursing or Surgery with strong commitment to implementing Infection Control, disinfection and sterilization principles
• Understands and can identify the cleaning products, methods and procedures used in SPD for each item based on manufacturers IFU’s
