The Registered Nurse plans, provides, and evaluates patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care. This role involves assessing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive care plans for adult and geriatric patients, ensuring a safe environment and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a plan of care for a specific patient assignment
- Prioritize care for patients with varying acuity
- Maintain continuity through clear and concise (verbal and written) communication
- Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of growth and development of the adult and geriatric patient
- Document patient care in a clear, complete, concise, and compliant manner
- Develop comprehensive educational and discharge plans for patients and families
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care and revise as needed
- Participate actively in unit-based and organizational quality management/improvement programs
- Provide a safe environment for patients, staff, family, and visitors
- Administer medication safely and perform nursing procedures efficiently
- Utilize time and materials in an effective and economical manner
- Participate in the orientation of new staff members, students, and others
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) registration in Massachusetts
- Ability to work weekend rotation per MNA contract
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required for newly licensed nurses.
