The ED Unit Service Technician provides direct patient care services, including EKG, phlebotomy, and equipment management, under the guidance of a licensed nurse. This role also performs crucial secretarial duties, organizing paperwork, managing communications, and handling patient intake into the electronic medical record system, while upholding the Patient and Family Centered Care Model.
Responsibilities
- Provide a broad range of care and services to patients, including EKG and phlebotomy
- Clean and stock equipment and rooms
- Perform secretarial duties such as organizing paperwork, answering phones, and paging
- Receive ED patients into the electronic medical record system
- Perform 1:1 patient sitting when necessary
- Assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, often stressful environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to set and reset priorities
- Excellent customer service skills
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency setting preferred or 1 year experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred in ICU/OPIC/Perioperative/IV Therapy
Nice to Have
- Experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency, ICU, OPIC, Perioperative, or IV Therapy setting
