About This Role

This Staffing Coordinator role focuses on orchestrating nursing staff schedules to ensure optimal resident care in a skilled nursing facility. The position ensures adequate coverage for all shifts by developing schedules, managing absences, and assisting with recruitment and onboarding to meet staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop schedules based on patient census, acuity, and staffing needs, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts
  • Adjust schedules as needed for absences, leaves, or unexpected events
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing levels to meet resident care needs
  • Complete staff orientation and competencies as needed
  • Create and maintain schedules, coordinating with HR on staffing needs
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding new nursing staff
  • Maintain accurate records related to timekeeping and leave
  • Find replacement staff for sick leave, vacation, or other absences
  • Regularly review census, admissions, and discharges to ensure sufficient staff are available
  • Advise on staffing needs by working with HR to identify and address staffing gaps
  • Ensure proper resource allocation through daily staffing reconciliation
  • Assist with recruiting by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and conducting initial screenings
  • Collaborate with hiring managers during weekly labor meetings
  • Help with the onboarding process, including orientation, training, and ensuring new nursing staff have necessary resources
  • Adhere to all relevant federal and state regulations regarding staffing, patient care, and employee records
  • Provide C.N.A./C.M.A. backup to floors as needed to fill shift
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with staff, management, and other healthcare professionals
  • Address staffing-related issues or challenges in a timely and effective manner

Requirements

  • Active on state Nurse Aide Registry

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, particularly in staffing or scheduling, is highly valued.

Nice to Have

  • Active on state Medication Aide Registry
  • CPR certification
  • Experience in healthcare staffing or scheduling
  • Familiarity with regulations and practices of skilled nursing facilities
