This role involves developing and delivering educational programs for nursing staff at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, ensuring compliance with training requirements and participating in quality assurance. The Staff Development Coordinator acts as a key educator, conducting orientation for new employees and providing in-service training.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan and provide educational programs on all shifts and for all departments
- Participate in the staff evaluation process by providing attendance records and observation of employee performance
- Provide general facility orientation to all new employees and ongoing in-service education
- Plan and provide a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs
- Ensure Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement
- Actively participate in quality assurance and report concerns to supervisor
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state
- CPR certification
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in long-term care setting preferred
