About This Role

This role involves developing and delivering educational programs for nursing staff at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, ensuring compliance with training requirements and participating in quality assurance. The Staff Development Coordinator acts as a key educator, conducting orientation for new employees and providing in-service training.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan and provide educational programs on all shifts and for all departments
  • Participate in the staff evaluation process by providing attendance records and observation of employee performance
  • Provide general facility orientation to all new employees and ongoing in-service education
  • Plan and provide a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs
  • Ensure Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement
  • Actively participate in quality assurance and report concerns to supervisor

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state
  • CPR certification

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in long-term care setting preferred
