This role involves developing and implementing educational programs for nursing staff, conducting new employee orientations, and ensuring compliance with training requirements for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA). The Staff Development Coordinator acts as an educator and participates in staff evaluation processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and provide educational programs on all shifts and for all departments
- Participate in the staff evaluation process by providing attendance records and observation of employee performance
- Provide general facility orientation to all new employees and ongoing in-service education
- Plan and provide a monthly and annual schedule of planned education programs
- Ensure Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) meet the annual 12-hour in-service requirement
- Actively participate in quality assurance and report concerns to supervisor
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state
- CPR certification
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state
- 1-3 years of experience in long-term care setting preferred
