Staff Development Coordinator, RN

About This Role

The Nurse Educator will orient and educate all nursing personnel, ensuring safe and effective nursing care in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines. This role is crucial for maintaining high-quality patient care and staff competency within the long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Nursing
• Develop education programs based on staff needs and teach current accepted patient care and nursing center practices
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout their individualized orientation period
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluation and clinically appraise nursing staff performance to identify areas for education
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program, including administering and tracking tuberculosis and hepatitis vaccines and influenza immunizations for all employees

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current RN license
• Minimum three years clinical experience (preferred)
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience, with two years in long-term care nursing and one year as an educator preferred

Nice to Have

• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing
• One year as an educator
• Experience in Gerontology
• Training and/or experience in adult learning
