About This Role

The Senior Privacy Specialist will join the Amazon Leo Trust & Privacy team, which is responsible for defining and maintaining the trust and privacy for Leo customers globally. This role involves establishing an incident management program, driving privacy by design outcomes, and developing a trust governance program across Amazon Leo.

Responsibilities

  • Drive privacy and trust risk identification and mitigation across Amazon Leo global operations by partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead architecture design reviews and track implementation of scalable, end-to-end privacy automation tooling.
  • Manage our global trust incident management program.
  • Strengthen the Privacy by Design culture across Amazon Leo engineering and product teams by providing guidance on design decisions and technical best practices.
  • Establish trust governance metrics and reporting mechanisms for tracking results, progress, and gaps in performance and compliance.
  • Drive strategic leadership in ambiguous environments by demonstrating excellent judgment in prioritizing between near-term and long-term problems while building scalable mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a quantitative/technical field (e.g., computer science, engineering, statistics)
  • 7+ years of experience defining and executing against program timelines & requirements
  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing operations environment
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
  • 5+ years in risk management or technical product/program management (privacy, security, legal, or compliance)
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics
  • 7+ years of experience defining and executing against program timelines and requirements, and 5+ years in risk management or technical product/program management ideally in privacy, security, legal, or compliance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Experience with risk investigation processes
  • Experience in Incident Management, Threat Management, Corporate Investigations, Law Enforcement, Security Operations, or Crisis Management
  • Experience working with a matrixed team of stakeholders
  • Broad understanding of AI/ML technology and trends
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, HIPAA) and privacy GRC framework
  • Experience with privacy risk management methodologies and tooling
  • Experience with privacy automation at scale across multiple business lines and geographies.
