About This Role

Join a team defining the future of avionics integration, developing novel integrated software/hardware integration and test approaches for NGAS programs. Contribute to the overall development of hardware/software subsystems, including functional architecture, performance analysis, requirements management, and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and integration of HW/SW subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
  • Develop integrated HW/SW integration and test approaches across NGAS programs
  • Perform requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Conduct functional and performance analyses
  • Perform detailed trade studies
  • Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation plans
  • Provide technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers
  • Lead and/or support technical discussions with the customer and interact daily with management, external personnel, and sub teams
  • Perform analyses and estimate performance of components, subsystems and systems
  • Configure, test, document and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems
  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems
  • Develop supplier documentation such as procurement specifications and statements of work, and review artifacts from supplier's development

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (Secret) and Program Special Access
  • Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
  • Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for airborne platforms
  • Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
  • Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering with a Bachelor's, or 6 years with a Master's, or 4 years with a PhD

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently and work in a self-directed manner
  • Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing EW or Radar subsystems for airborne platforms
  • Experience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysis
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment
  • Experience in model based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
  • Experience with generating and managing requirements in DOORs
  • Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
  • Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
  • Experience in supplier/subcontract management
  • Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of work
  • Understand NGAS Sector Engineering procedures
  • Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
  • Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review
