Join a team defining the future of avionics integration, developing novel integrated software/hardware integration and test approaches for NGAS programs. Contribute to the overall development of hardware/software subsystems, including functional architecture, performance analysis, requirements management, and verification.
Responsibilities
- Support development and integration of HW/SW subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
- Develop integrated HW/SW integration and test approaches across NGAS programs
- Perform requirements development, analysis, maturation, and implementation, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Conduct functional and performance analyses
- Perform detailed trade studies
- Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation plans
- Provide technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers
- Lead and/or support technical discussions with the customer and interact daily with management, external personnel, and sub teams
- Perform analyses and estimate performance of components, subsystems and systems
- Configure, test, document and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems
- Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
- Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems
- Develop supplier documentation such as procurement specifications and statements of work, and review artifacts from supplier's development
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (Secret) and Program Special Access
- Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for airborne platforms
- Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation and interface control documentation
- Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
- 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering with a Bachelor's, or 6 years with a Master's, or 4 years with a PhD
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently and work in a self-directed manner
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing EW or Radar subsystems for airborne platforms
- Experience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysis
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a close team environment
- Experience in model based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
- Experience with generating and managing requirements in DOORs
- Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
- Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
- Experience in supplier/subcontract management
- Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of work
- Understand NGAS Sector Engineering procedures
- Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
- Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review
