This role is for an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities in an assigned clinic, working under the direction of a staff nurse and/or physician as part of a total healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Implement teaching plans for patients and their families with well-defined health learning needs
- Prepare and operate necessary equipment and instruments for MOHS surgical procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect medical equipment and instruments
- Complete all routine training and skills tests as needed
- Assist with or perform exams and procedures, and document intervention in EMR
- Take and record accurate vital signs and measurements
- Communicate patient data using EMR to support decision-making to improve patient care
- Review Multi-patient task list
- Rotate to the Healthpoint location on an as-needed basis
- Backup to nursing manager
Requirements
- Current Vocational Nursing license in the state of Texas or a temporary permit from the Board of Nursing
- At least two years of LVN experience in a hospital, clinic or community-based environment
Qualifications
- Completion of a Board of Nursing accredited program of vocational nursing
- At least two years of LVN experience in a hospital, clinic or community-based environment
Nice to Have
- Previous Dermatology and/or MOHS surgical procedure experience
