Provide comprehensive evaluation, assessment, and treatment of communication and feeding skills for children aged 3-21 in a school setting. Collaborate with other staff and families to develop and implement individualized education plans and contribute to the students' overall educational growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or feeding skills for children aged 3-21.
- Deliver goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum development of communication and/or feeding skills.
- Implement daily program through a consistent daily/weekly schedule shared with the school and supervisors.
- Deliver specialized individual and group instruction.
- Consult with other staff members working directly with students to serve their educational/functional needs.
- Assess and document each student's progress through formal and informal tests and measurements.
- Write and prepare annual review reports/goals for each student in accordance with their IEP dates.
- Assist with school-based speech and language input when writing an FBA/BIP.
- Provide parent support and education.
- Attend all school related meetings as scheduled, including Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domain, Referrals and pre-IEP meetings.
- Plan and prepare the learning environment by setting up and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Follow guidelines and needs of each individual student in the classroom.
- Maintain professional attitudes and respect to the school.
- Communicate and follow up with school and families to request appropriate MD signatures/orders for referrals.
- Treat all students with dignity, compassion, empathy and respect while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist with any devices and assistive technology as outlined by other related service team members.
- Collect data and complete reports regarding student goals and progress.
- Provide screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled school-based speech language pathology intervention.
- Develop and implement treatment plans focusing on functional and measurable outcomes.
- Provide documentation to maintain quality of therapy records as it relates to reimbursement guidelines, accuracy of billing information and school requirements.
- Follow administrative policies and procedures related to emergency procedures, infection control and safety.
- Coordinate and/or participate in training programs for students, school staff and families.
- Initiate new program development with a focus on needed functional outcomes.
- Participate in continuous compliance and quality improvement trainings and activities.

- Age specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise to serve children aged 3-21
