Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

About This Role

Implement and administer speech therapy services for pediatric patients in their homes and community, focusing on cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional development. This role involves performing evaluations, developing treatment plans, and educating caregivers to maximize patient independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care and meet patient and family needs by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
• Develop goals appropriate to child, creating and implementing speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician
• Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing and/or social/emotional functioning
• Implement skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child
• Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine
• Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with the physician order
• Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
• Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

• ASHA certification
• State License
• Current CPR certification

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
