This role involves implementing treatment programs for pediatric patients with various developmental delays and disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide high-quality care, coordinate with referral partners, and educate caregivers to maximize patient independence at home.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results to develop appropriate goals for children.
- Create and implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician, utilizing skilled interventions to maximize each child's potential.
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders.
- Assure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- Document patient care services and care coordination using an intuitive electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping all information confidential.
Requirements
- ASHA certification
- Texas State SLP License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
