About This Role

Implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional disabilities/delays by administering speech therapy services in home and community settings. This role involves performing evaluations, developing treatment plans, educating caregivers, and documenting patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and meet patient and family needs by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
  • Develop goals appropriate to the child and create/implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician
  • Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning
  • Implement skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child
  • Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills for therapeutic activities in the child's daily routine
  • Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
  • Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
  • Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

  • ASHA certification
  • State License
  • Current CPR certification

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
