Speech Language Pathologist

About This Role

As a Speech Language Pathologist at SSH-Springfield, you will assess and treat chronic, critically ill patients to facilitate maximum communication and swallowing potential, contributing to critical illness recovery and interdisciplinary patient programming.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and swallowing function
• Provide goal-oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and swallowing potential
• Participate in monitoring the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department
• Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals
• Assist in the development of the SLP role in programs and services
• Assist in revising departmental policies and procedures
• Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies
• Exhibit willingness to share professional knowledge and experience
• Alert the Manager to educational needs

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment

Nice to Have

• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association
