Speech-Language Pathologist

About This Role

This Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role involves conducting assessments, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and providing direct therapy for students with speech and language disorders in a school setting. The position aims to help students achieve their fullest communication potential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students
• Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
• Provide direct therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise on speech and language development
• Offer support and training for teachers and staff to enhance communication strategies in the classroom

Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Florida
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Entry level, experience in a school setting an advantage but not required

Nice to Have

• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Experience working in a school setting
