Implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional disabilities. Provide high-quality care, develop individualized goals, and empower caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results, developing appropriate goals, and creating and implementing speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician.
- Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain functioning and improve their level of independence by implementing skilled interventions.
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with the physician order.
- Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
Requirements
- ASHA certification
- State License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience preferred
Nice to Have
- A minimum of 1 year of experience
