About This Role

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional disabilities. This role involves planning and administering speech therapy services in a home and community setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care by performing evaluations, interpreting assessment results, and developing appropriate goals.
  • Create and implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician to assist pediatric patients in developing or regaining cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional functioning.
  • Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to develop skills for carrying over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
  • Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders.
  • Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs to assure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge.
  • Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system.
  • Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.

Requirements

  • ASHA certification
  • Texas State SLP License
  • Current CPR certification

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience preferred

Nice to Have

  • 1+ year of experience in a related field
