A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional disabilities. This role involves planning and administering speech therapy services in a home and community setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care by performing evaluations, interpreting assessment results, and developing appropriate goals.
- Create and implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician to assist pediatric patients in developing or regaining cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional functioning.
- Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to develop skills for carrying over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders.
- Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs to assure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge.
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
Requirements
- ASHA certification
- Texas State SLP License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience preferred
Nice to Have
- 1+ year of experience in a related field
