About This Role

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will implement treatment programs for pediatric patients with various communication and feeding disorders. This role involves planning and administering speech therapy services in home and community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality care by performing evaluations, interpreting assessment results, and developing appropriate goals for pediatric patients.
  • Create and implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician.
  • Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning.
  • Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
  • Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with physician orders.
  • Assure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs.
  • Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system.

Requirements

  • ASHA certification
  • State License
  • Current CPR certification

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred

  • Feeding experience
  • 1 year of experience
