Speech-Language Pathologist

About This Role

This role involves implementing treatment programs for pediatric patients with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional disabilities by providing speech therapy services in home and community settings. The Speech-Language Pathologist will evaluate patients, develop goals, and create treatment plans in coordination with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care and meet the needs of the patient and family by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results; developing goals appropriate to child; creating and implementing speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician
• Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing and/or social/emotional functioning and improve their level of independence by implementing skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child
• Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to develop skills to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine
• Coordinate with referral partners to provide services for children in accordance with the physician order
• Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs
• Document patient care services and care coordination in an intuitive electronic medical record system
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

• ASHA certification
• State License
• Current CPR certification

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 yr. of experience preferred
