About This Role

Implement and administer speech therapy services to pediatric patients in their homes and communities, addressing cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional delays, while educating and empowering caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform evaluations and interpret assessment results for pediatric patients
  • Develop goals appropriate to individual children
  • Create and implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with physicians
  • Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning
  • Implement skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child
  • Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities
  • Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders
  • Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs to assure continuation of therapeutic plans
  • Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system
  • Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

  • ASHA certification
  • Texas State SLP License
  • Current CPR certification

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
