About This Role

Implement and administer speech therapy services to pediatric patients in their homes and communities, addressing cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional delays, while educating and empowering caregivers.

Responsibilities

Perform evaluations and interpret assessment results for pediatric patients
Develop goals appropriate to individual children
Create and implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with physicians
Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning
Implement skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child
Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities
Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders
Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs to assure continuation of therapeutic plans
Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system
Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

ASHA certification
Texas State SLP License
Current CPR certification

Qualifications

A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
