Implement and administer speech therapy services to pediatric patients in their homes and communities, addressing cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional delays, while educating and empowering caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations and interpret assessment results for pediatric patients
- Develop goals appropriate to individual children
- Create and implement speech therapy treatment plans in conjunction with physicians
- Assist pediatric patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning
- Implement skilled interventions to maximize the potential of each individual child
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders
- Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs to assure continuation of therapeutic plans
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential
Requirements
- ASHA certification
- Texas State SLP License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
