About This Role

This Specialty Artist - MAC role at Ulta Beauty focuses on maximizing MAC brand sales by engaging guests, assisting in merchandise selection, and maintaining store standards. The role requires professional makeup artistry skills and exceptional guest service to support the Experience Manager in achieving performance goals.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed MAC brand sales and service goals and contribute to the store's overall goals
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by interfacing with guests and managing a preferred guest list
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, offering samples, and recommending products/services
• Conduct personalized professional makeup demonstrations, applications, and lessons; skincare analyses; and product demonstrations
• Stay informed and inform guests about promotions and marketing initiatives
• Book appointments for and support the execution of services and in-store events
• Take initiative to stay informed regarding new and existing industry trends, products, and services
• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests
• Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, credit, and the Ulta Beauty app with guests
• Maintain and update an active clientele portfolio for MAC brand sales
• Serve as an Ulta Beauty and MAC brand ambassador by sharing product knowledge and application techniques
• Maintain strong relationships with MAC brand partners through participation in required trainings and event execution
• Regularly participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education
• Collaborate with managers and associates throughout the store to help grow the business
• Ensure adherence to Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty and MAC brand dress code
• Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed, and faced, and ensuring testers are maintained
• Maintain outstanding store and MAC operational standards, including participation in MAC recycling program and cleanliness
• Participate in completing merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory, and processing shipment
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service
• Execute other operational tasks as directed

Requirements

• Professional caliber makeup artistry skills
• Exceptional guest service
• Aptitude to learn and communicate product knowledge
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to positively and proactively handle guest concerns and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to attend brand sponsored trainings

Qualifications

• High school diploma is preferred
• Cosmetics artistry experience preferred
