About This Role

The Specialist Manufacturing Engineer will lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for product functionality and cost efficiency. This role involves maintaining detailed documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing DFM reviews for new products, and offering technical support for manufacturing and sustaining engineering efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Production, Contracts, Planning, Program Management, and Design Engineering to align operational plans.
  • Provide DFM (Design For Manufacture) review on New Product Introduction and generate DFM reports.
  • Provide direct Technical Support to Contract Manufacturers (CM) and in-house production for New Product Transition and on-going product Sustaining Engineering.
  • Assist Manufacturing team to perform component failure analysis at System level and down to component level.
  • Provides Manufacturing Engineer technical support for prototype build such as SMT reflow oven profile, component placement, assembly fixture and cabling.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of manufacturing process
  • Familiarity with MIL spec, J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 / 620
  • Strong understanding and experience of processes and procedures to manufacture and assemble cables/harnesses, SMT circuit cards, electro/mechanical sub-assemblies, and systems
  • Familiarity and relevant experience operating in MRP and ERP systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering
  • Minimum 4 years of prior related experience in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering. Alternatively, a Graduate Degree with 2 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience without a degree, working on RF, Analog/Digital Electronics products with development and production support.
