This role is responsible for the planning, administration, and execution of high-profile university programs and events at the FIELD Center within the Opus College of Engineering. The specialist will engage external corporate partners, students, faculty, and senior administrators, and manage events from strategy design to onsite execution, ensuring program objectives are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage the planning and administration of events, providing consultation and expertise to internal and external constituents
- Develop and define event planning strategies to achieve event goals and timelines effectively
- Lead cross-functional teams of university staff, faculty, students, and external partners to deliver event goals
- Develop and process contracts and agreements related to corporate partnerships, speakers, venues, and transportation
- Manage all logistics including sending invites, tracking participants, printing materials, and setting up catering and technology
- Conduct program/event assessments, and proactively seek innovative solutions to improve event offerings, quality, and service
- Develop and execute a vision for programs and events that enhance student experience, external partnerships, and Marquette University's reputation
- Promote programs and events using social media, web pages, and print media in coordination with marketing and communication representatives
- Plan, forecast, and manage program/event budgets, tracking and ensuring timely payments
- Supervise student employees, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
- 3+ years of related experience
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good organization skills
- Project management skills
- Budget management skills
- Analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities
- Ability to engage team members, colleagues, students, and constituents positively and collaboratively
- Availability for weekend and evening hours as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
