Peace Works Assistant

About This Role

Serve as a Peace Works Assistant, supporting general office operations, program communications, and community engagement for Marquette University's Center for Peacemaking, specifically within the MUPW program.

Responsibilities

• Provide general office and clerical support
• Mentor students enrolled in Peace Works programming
• Maintain social media accounts for Peace Works
• Create Peace Works Newsletter and/or Blog
• Write articles on various topics related to peacemaking
• Assist with community engagement projects
• Draft and review written communications
• Interview various Marquette speakers and employees
• Copy session materials for programs
• Attend various Marquette programs, speakers, and events

Requirements

• Currently attend one of Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS)
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Professional attitude
• Willingness to have a flexible schedule
• Computer competency, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of social media techniques
• Knowledge of and commitment to nonviolence
• Warm, lively, and engaging personality
• Ability to influence peers

• Excellent time management skills
