About This Role

This Sous Chef role supports culinary operations at Hoag Hospital Irvine, assisting the Executive Chef in daily production and maintaining high food quality standards. The position focuses on guiding a strong, engaged culinary team within a high-profile healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistent, high‑quality food production
  • Assist with menu execution, recipe compliance, and culinary standards
  • Train, guide, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain performance and efficiency
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Experience as a Sous Chef or strong culinary supervisor in a high‑volume environment
  • Solid culinary skills with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Ability to support staff leadership, training, scheduling, and workflow coordination
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety protocols, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Experience as a Sous Chef or strong culinary supervisor in a high-volume environment
