Perform and assist in performing quality neurovascular sonography procedures to provide efficient and quality services. This role involves data management, documentation, equipment operation, and ensuring patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Performs and/or assists in performing quality neurovascular sonography procedures
- Obtains appropriate data management and documentation and utilizes hospital resources appropriately
- Communicates in an effective manner to provide efficient and quality services with high customer satisfaction
- Participates in educational activities to enhance patient care and quality
- Performs appropriate equipment management including operations and maintenance
- Utilizes appropriate competencies, guidelines and environment for safe patient care
- Provides and/developmental appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age group served
- Performs cardiac ultrasound studies including 2D, M-Mode, pulsed and color flow, stress echo in a physician office or hospital setting
Requirements
- Completion of an Allied Health Training Program in Diagnostic Ultrasound (Associate's degree)
- Or completion of a correlative Allied Health Program with successful completion of a postgraduate course in Neuroultrasound
- Or Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses, and other ancillary professional staff
- Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with public, patients, physicians, and other medical center staff
Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an Allied Health Training Program in Diagnostic Ultrasound, or completion of a correlative Allied Health Program with successful completion of a postgraduate course in Neuroultrasound, or bachelor's degree in a related field.
