Sonographer

About This Role

Provide diagnostic ultrasound services, including OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular superficial structures, in a hospital or clinical setting, promoting team concepts and Kaiser Permanente's mission.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures using required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the age of patient served, including routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations
• Communicate with Radiologists regarding diagnostic procedures and findings
• Assist with patient transport and ensure comfort during procedures
• Perform exam reviews and manage file work
• Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness of equipment and examination rooms
• Conduct Quality Assurance functions to ensure high standards of diagnostic services

Requirements

• Graduate of a CAAHEP Accredited Ultrasonographer Program or 2 years previous Ultrasound experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate (Abdomen or Ob-Gyn) from ARDMS at hire
• Sonography Technologist License (Oregon) at hire
• Basic Life Support within 1 month of hire
• Daily use of diagnostic equipment and health care computer systems
• Customer-focused service skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP Accredited Ultrasonographer Program or 2 years previous Ultrasound experience, and High School Diploma or GED

Nice to Have

• Minimum one (1) year experience performing Ultrasound exams, preferably within the last three (3) years
• Vascular Ultrasonographer experience
• Organizational skills, time management, prioritization, planning
• Attention to detail, problem solving, decision making, judgment
• Technical skills, initiative
• Adaptability, flexibility
• Ability to work unsupervised and perform exams independently and confidently
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) ARDMS certification
