Software Engineer I

About This Role

Develop software solutions for the insurance industry, enhance industry-leading products, and maintain system stability by contributing to a complex application suite of products.

Responsibilities

• Serve as part of the on-call L1 Support rotation, acting as the first line of defense for production outages, incidents, and critical system issues
• Monitor system alerts and logs, perform initial triage, and escalate to the appropriate technical teams when necessary
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure timely resolution of production incidents
• Document incident details, root causes, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement and system stability
• Work on software development, enhancements, testing, and automation initiatives during non-on-call hours
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software applications for customers
• Analyze code to determine causes of errors and revise programs as needed
• Participate in the full development life cycle, including requirements analysis and design
• Learn to author technical specifications based upon conceptual design and stated business requirements
• Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, tools, and standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of JavaScript
• Knowledge of SQL Server (or similar databases)
