Join MANTECH as a Network Engineer to provide hands-on expertise in the installation and management of public and private networks. This role involves evaluating new communication technologies, leading engineering plans, and ensuring maximum network performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on experience and expertise in the installation and management of public and/or private networks, including IP networks, WANs, switches, routers (Cisco), and troubleshooting servers and networks.
- Offer guidance to the Network/Server Lead, provide weekly and monthly performance reports, and daily reports to the customer on critical issues and resolutions.
- Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities and identify innovative solutions for complex situations.
- Analyze and develop new hardware requirements and prepare specifications for hardware.
- Direct and lead preparation of engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages, and develop infrastructure installation schedules.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and business partners, troubleshoot complex issues, and assist in designing network installation configurations for new sites.
- Support decommissioning of a site, assist in moves, and support computer systems and peripherals.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams for procurement, installation, and management of network related inventory (switches, routers, servers, storage solutions, etc.).
- Travel to customer sites to perform deployment activities, including site surveys, hardware installation and removal, and hardware checks for shipment.
- Organize and direct hardware installations and support site surveys.
- Conduct training sessions to ensure all team members are cross-trained in supported technology.
- Provide Tier III network technical issue resolution, including infrastructure-related problems and proper use of hardware.
- Direct and lead preparation of drawings documenting network configuration changes at each site.
- Lead functional teams or projects requiring depth and/or breadth of expertise.
- Prepare site installation and trip reports and respond to requests, documenting actions taken in a ticketing system.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, focus on network, Cisco routers and switch configurations, LAN/WAN Management
- Hands-on experience and expertise in the installation and management of public and/or private networks such as Internet protocol (IP) networks, wide area networks (WANs), switches, routers (Cisco), and troubleshooting servers and networks to provide maximum performance.
- Clear and effective communication both verbally and non-verbally to deliver updates; briefings; or interface with co-workers; leadership as well as customer.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making to include experience in Customer Service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Productivity applications.
- One or more technical certifications, preferably in networking (e.g. CCNA, CCST, CCNP) required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret clearance prior to starting this position.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate or bachelor’s degree highly preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, with a focus on network, Cisco routers and switch configurations, and LAN/WAN Management.

- Prior experience supporting network and server installation, integration, and support in the Federal government enterprise environment.
- Experience contributing as part of an Agile team.
- Current active Secret clearance
