Software Development Director

About This Role

Lead and manage a software engineering team to design, develop, and deliver AI solutions for OCI Networking. Drive product roadmaps through technical leadership and collaboration with other service teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team that designs, develops AI solutions for OCI Networking
• Be the owner for building AI applications powered by AI models
• Manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing AI based applications to automate, optimize and secure networks
• Interact with other service teams to come up with product roadmaps
• Assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives
• Lead engineering teams for building AI based applications to automate the provisioning, qualifying and design of networks
• Work with architects to identify and deliver new features and drive the product roadmap
• Provide leadership, direction, and strategy to the organization
• Recruit and continue to build out a capable and cohesive engineering team
• Deliver large scale project on-time with high quality

Requirements

• 10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems
• 7+ years experience in people management, preferably managing managers
• Proficient in AI Models and familiar with how to train the models
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures
• BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area

• BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
• 10+ years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems, with 7+ years in people management

Nice to Have

• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure
