Social Service Director

About This Role

This role is responsible for ensuring the medically related emotional and social needs of residents are met in a skilled nursing facility, assisting in planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Social Services Department operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the medically related emotional and social needs of each resident are met/maintained on an individual basis
• Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the overall operation of the Skilled Nursing community’s Social Services Department
• Ensure the social service program meets the psychosocial well-being of each resident in accordance with the comprehensive assessment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social work or human services field OR Social Work license OR minimum state/federal qualifications
• 1+ year supervised social work experience in a healthcare setting
• Knowledgeable of regulations governing activity services in nursing care facilities
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate various software programs, including electronic health record software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or in a human services field, including but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology, OR a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Social Work within the state, OR minimum qualifications as required by state/federal regulations.
• Minimum one (1) year supervised social work experience in a healthcare setting working directly with individuals
