Shipping Manager

About This Role

Manage high-volume shipping operations for a telemedicine fulfillment pharmacy handling over 60,000 orders daily. This role involves leading and coaching a shipping team, optimizing logistics workflows, and implementing process improvements to ensure timely and accurate delivery of essential healthcare products.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of daily shipping operations, ensuring 100% of orders leave on time, in full, every day
• Lead, coach, and scale a best-in-class shipping team (techs, supervisors, support) with attention to detail and discipline
• Oversee integration and optimization of shipping software, hardware (scanners, sorters, printers), and platforms (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.)
• Build and maintain real-time dashboards and KPI trackers for throughput, order accuracy, daily volume, and error rates
• Identify process gaps and rapidly implement lean improvements to reduce waste, increase speed, and maintain regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with Fulfillment and Pharmacy Ops teams to optimize packaging, staging, and cut-off workflows
• Champion accountability: daily huddles, performance reviews, corrective action plans, and incentive tracking

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing high-volume shipping/logistics
• Background in production, logistics, distribution, or manufacturing
• Expertise in managing KPIs, SLAs, throughput, cost per shipment, takt time, and cycle time
• Capable of using and optimizing in-house software stack and/or introducing external tools to improve visibility, scheduling, and output

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing high-volume shipping/logistics (ideally 25,000+ packages/day)

Nice to Have

• Background in industrial engineering, logistics, or operations management
• Prior exposure to regulated environments (e.g., pharmacy, medical, food, automotive)
• Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Agile principles
