Overnight Pharmacist

About This Role

This Pharmacist role is critical for ensuring accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant verification of prescriptions during the overnight shift, focusing on the second stage of prescription verification (PV2) before fulfillment and shipment to patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform PV2 verification of prescriptions to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with legal requirements
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including DEA and FDA guidelines, while maintaining accurate records
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in prescriptions to ensure medication safety and accuracy before fulfillment
• Work closely with pharmacy technicians, PV1 pharmacists, and fulfillment staff to ensure smooth operations during the shift
• Monitor and maintain productivity metrics to align with pharmacy goals and efficiency benchmarks
• Assist in troubleshooting any issues related to prescription processing, verification systems, or workflow interruptions during the midnight shift
• Provide end-of-shift updates to the incoming team to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of operations

Requirements

• Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and verification tools
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate workflow efficiency and resolve operational challenges

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree required
• New graduates are welcome to apply
