As a ServiceNow Senior Consultant - Developer, you will lead the technical design, solution architecture, and hands-on development of ServiceNow solutions to drive visibility and automation for clients' cyber and risk programs. This role involves active coding, architecting integrations, and designing scalable solutions on the ServiceNow platform, translating business requirements into maintainable configurations and custom development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and hands-on development of ServiceNow solutions including custom applications, integrations, workflows, business rules, scripted REST APIs, and UI components
- Architect and build complex integrations between ServiceNow and third-party security and risk tools
- Write and optimize server-side and client-side scripts including Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs, and Flow Designer actions
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks using ATF to ensure solution quality
- Perform code reviews and enforce development best practices across the engagement team
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications and detailed design documents
- Configure and customize ServiceNow platform solutions including forms, calculations, reporting, dashboards, and access controls
- Build and customize portal solutions using Service Portal and Next Experience UI Framework (UI Builder)
- Lead deployment of automated ServiceNow solutions at large and complex organizations across a variety of industries
- Work collaboratively with functional consultants and senior risk stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives
- Build solid, trust-based relationships with client technical and business stakeholders
- Mentor junior developers on ServiceNow development patterns, debugging techniques, and platform best practices
- Develop solution architecture documentation including technical design blueprints, integration architecture diagrams, and platform scalability assessments
- Evaluate technical trade-offs and make design recommendations that balance client requirements, platform best practices, and long-term maintainability
- Contribute to technical estimation and scoping efforts for new engagements and change requests
- Facilitate technical demonstrations, user acceptance testing, and knowledge transfer sessions
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a hands-on ServiceNow developer writing and deploying code on implementation projects in a client-facing role
- 4+ years of hands-on experience writing and debugging ServiceNow server-side and client-side scripts (JavaScript)
- 4+ years of experience building and maintaining ServiceNow integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Import Sets, Transform Maps, and MID Server configurations
- 4+ years of experience with ServiceNow development lifecycle practices including update set management, scoped applications, and instance management
- 4+ years of work experience developing solutions on one or more ServiceNow modules: ITOM, ITAM, IRM, SecOps, TPRM
- 4+ years of experience as a hands-on developer throughout the engagement lifecycle; this role requires writing code, not solely overseeing or delegating development work
- 4+ years of experience contributing to solution architecture decisions, technical design documentation, and integration pattern selection on ServiceNow engagements
- Previous Consulting or Big 4 experience
Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
- 4+ years of experience as a hands-on ServiceNow developer writing and deploying code on implementation projects in a client-facing role
Nice to Have
- Experience building integrations with enterprise security tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Microsoft Sentinel, or threat intelligence feeds (STIX/TAXII)
- Experience with CMDB architecture and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) design and implementation
- Experience with Service Portal development, Employee Center customization, or Next Experience UI Framework (UI Builder, Now Experience components)
- Experience with IntegrationHub and pre-built Spokes for enterprise integration patterns
- Exposure to ServiceNow Now Assist or GenAI capabilities on the platform
- Experience with ServiceNow Business Continuity Management (BCM) and/or Privacy Management modules
- Experience with RSA Archer or other GRC platforms, particularly in migration or integration scenarios with ServiceNow
- Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Predictive Intelligence, or Virtual Agent
