Server Assistant

About This Role

This entry-level Server Assistant role provides an opportunity to learn restaurant operations in an elevated dining setting at Cliff House Maine's Tiller restaurant. You will support the serving staff, ensure prompt guest service, and maintain dining room cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Proactively support the restaurant team by clearing tableware, napkins and refuse from tables
• Ensure restaurant cleanliness by wiping down tables and chairs, and clearing debris from the floor and surrounding area
• Deliver prompt service by resetting tables in a timely manner
• Proactively support the restaurant team while monitoring dining room activity
• Collaborate with team members to communicate any special needs or guest requests
• Utilize the freedom to go beyond and take initiative to resolve guest complaints and create loyalty

Requirements

• Familiarity with restaurant terminology and food service techniques
• Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing

Qualifications

• Previous work or volunteer experience passionately providing service to others preferred, but not required.
