About This Role

Merrick & Company is seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead and manage multi-discipline design teams for water and wastewater projects. This role involves strategic planning, client engagement, and successful project delivery for an employee-owned consulting engineering firm.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage a multi-discipline team of design engineers or technicians on water and wastewater projects
  • Provide input to and participate in strategic planning for the team, focusing on growth, project delivery, staffing, and financial performance
  • Adopt and apply all Merrick policies and procedures on assignments
  • Work closely with clients to effectively describe and deliver scope of work
  • Prepare and oversee fee proposals for water and wastewater design work
  • Lead design teams and perform independent planning and design tasks, reviewing the designs of others
  • Prepare construction documents, and manage the successful delivery of assigned projects
  • Exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities of the position
  • Demonstrate experience, in-depth knowledge, and understanding of water treatment and conveyance, wastewater treatment and conveyance, and associated infrastructure
  • Demonstrate a long-term successful record of Business Development, project management, managing schedules and budgets for medium to large, complex civil engineering design efforts

Requirements

  • 20+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering
  • 15 years in Project Management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited School
  • Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Strong technical design experience in water and wastewater projects
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record and insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrier
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited School
  • 20+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering with 15 years in Project Management

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Envision (ENV SP) from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure credential
  • Idaho experience
  • Demonstrated design experience, familiarity with applying State and Federal regulations, and some experience with construction observation
