Ensure the stable operation of in-house computer software systems and network connections for the DLA CAGE system. This role involves planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links, as well as directing other system administrators.
Responsibilities
- Ensure stable operation of in-house computer software systems and network connections for CAGE system applications and capabilities
- Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network software and communication links
- Organize and direct the configuration and operation of CAGE information management systems
- Analyze and resolve end-user software program and connectivity issues
- Conduct capacity and performance analysis and provide system configuration change and upgrade recommendations
- Increase system administrator efficiency and accuracy via automated tools and scripts, develop procedures, and conduct training
- Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision
- Provide local and remote maintenance support to operational systems deployed at multiple locations
- Direct the work of other system administrators for day-to-day system administration, optimization, and user assistance
- Apply advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing and ensuring fault tolerance
- Perform vulnerability management
- Manage, maintain, and secure critical IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage) within secure environments
- Implement and manage security controls, patching, and vulnerability remediation
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
- Provide advanced, Tier 2/3 technical support and resolve complex incidents
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology-related field
- Ten (10) years of relevant experience in IT
- Ten (10) years of progressive hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
- IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5) at time of proposal submission
- 8570/8140 IAT III certification (CISM, CISSP or equivalent)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology-related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience in IT, with at least 10 years of progressive hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software
