About This Role

This Senior Structural Engineer role oversees the management and production of structural engineering design services. The position requires thorough knowledge of industrial steel and concrete design and involves working with preconstruction teams for capital projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the design and structural analysis of various projects, including commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure developments
Oversee structural aspects of projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to high safety and quality standards
Ensure all structural designs meet local and international building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders for seamless project integration
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, supporting their professional development and teamwork
Identify, analyze, and resolve complex structural engineering problems with innovative solutions
Prepare comprehensive technical reports, design calculations, specifications, and documentation for stakeholders
Conduct structural reviews, audits, and inspections to verify accuracy and quality of engineering work
Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering practices, technologies, and software tools

Requirements

10+ years professional structural engineering experience
Advanced knowledge of structural design and analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD, ETABS, RISA, Revit, AutoCAD)
Familiarity with building codes, standards, and construction methods
Proven track record of working with engineers & designers to produce construction drawings

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or similar discipline is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with a focus on design and analysis.

Nice to Have

Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or similar discipline
Licensed Professional Engineer in South Carolina with capability of reciprocity to other states
