Senior Structural Design Engineer

About This Role

Lead structural engineering projects for water resources infrastructure, providing technical expertise and managing design tasks. Ensure compliance with engineering standards and contribute to high-profile projects throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering efforts on projects, including reviewing designs, plans, and specifications
• Provide specialized technical input for water-related projects
• Manage structural projects, coordinating design tasks with multi-disciplinary engineering staff and joint venture partners
• Prepare proposals, technical specifications, and design documents
• Write technical reports and provide engineering support during construction
• Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards
• Modify established guidelines, devise new approaches, and apply existing criteria to solve complex problems
• Perform condition assessments and conduct site visits as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of related experience
• Knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable codes (ACI, ASIC, ASCE, AASHTO, USACE Engineering Manuals)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• 8+ years of related experience in structural design

Nice to Have

• 10+ years experience in structural design
• Master's degree in structural engineering
• Project management skills
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing
• Strong structural problem analysis skills
• Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools including finite element analysis
• Current PE license in LA, TX, or other states
