This role involves managing and directing significant in-space missions for NASA, DoD, and Commercial Primes, focusing on program scope, schedule, and budget. The Senior Specialist will lead cross-functional teams, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of propulsion systems while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, testing, and integration of propulsion systems for high-profile national aerospace or defense missions
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure project stability throughout its lifecycle
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams, government agencies, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with mission objectives
- Provide guidance on propulsion system design, performance, and compliance with national and international standards
- Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to monitor project performance and ensure alignment with cost, schedule, and scope objectives
- Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation to achieve mission success
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience with Bachelor’s Degree
- Or minimum 4 years of prior related experience with a Graduate Degree
- Or minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 4 years with a Graduate degree, or 10 years without a degree.
Nice to Have
- Strong background in propulsion systems and aerospace engineering
- Proficiency in Earned Value Management and risk assessment methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with government or national aerospace programs
