Senior Reinsurance Accountant

Join a growing P&C insurer as a Senior Reinsurance Accountant, focusing on reinsurance accounting, statutory reporting, and process improvement. This role offers a structured handover and a clear pathway to Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly reinsurance premium and loss journal entries
• Process reinsurance settlements across quota share, excess of loss, and catastrophe programs
• Perform monthly reinsurance account reconciliations
• Prepare and support Schedule F reporting for statutory filings
• Record daily reinsurance cash receipts and maintain detailed support schedules
• Liaise with reinsurers and brokers to resolve variances and provide documentation
• Review reinsurance contracts to support correct accounting treatment
• Support audits, examinations, and internal control processes
• Partner with Claims, Underwriting, and Actuarial teams
• Help modernise and streamline Excel-based reinsurance processes

Requirements

• Insurance or reinsurance accounting experience (P&C preferred)
• Baseline exposure to reinsurance accounting, settlements, or Schedule F
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with GAAP
• Exposure to statutory accounting

Qualifications

• Experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting
