About This Role

Manage all aspects of federal construction projects from preconstruction through owner sign-off, leading in-house and field teams, and ensuring project profitability, safety, and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety culture for the project
  • Control costs and maintain profitability for projects with extensive heavy construction experience
  • Manage field construction activity, engineering, and other field project support activities
  • Supervise the development of project schedules and monitor production for timely project completion
  • Review cost reports and analyze to assist in reducing costs and maintaining productivity
  • Establish project labor requirements and review with divisional management
  • Conduct regular project inspections and advise project supervision of work progress, quality, and safety conditions
  • Coordinate work with subcontractors to ensure adherence to project scope and specifications
  • Administer project policies and procedures
  • Coordinate with architects, inspectors, and clients/owner representatives to resolve project issues
  • Regularly conduct safety meetings and aid supervision in addressing areas and conditions requiring attention

Requirements

  • 10 years previous construction management experience
  • Medium to large federal project experience ($100M+)
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
  • Experience with large/complex safety plan implementation
  • Proven track record of organizing project teams to accomplish project goals
  • Effective negotiation and contract management skills
  • Experience in managing a project using established methods of cost reporting
  • Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction
  • Understanding of contract types and terms (General Conditions, Burn Rates, Fee Analysis)
  • Understanding of various insurance programs (SDI, BR policies, OCIP, CCIP)

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate University degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field) or equivalent relevant education, training or work experience
  • 10 years previous construction management experience, specifically with medium to large federal projects ($100M+)
